Welcome to Literature Lens. Your Friendly Guide to the Wild World of English Literature.

Hey there, bookworms, students, teachers, and curious minds! Welcome to Literature Lens, your go-to spot for all things literature. Founded by Abu Ishaque Mazumdar and Kamrun Nahar, two English professors with an incurable love for the written word, this blog is here to make literature fun, accessible, and downright fascinating.

Whether you’re here to ace an exam, spice up your teaching, or just geek out over Shakespeare, you’re in the right place. Together, we want to dive into the magic of storytelling and explore why literature continues to shape how we see the world.

What We’re All About

At Literature Lens, we believe literature isn’t just words on a page. It’s a way of understanding life, love, ambition, and why humans are so wonderfully complicated. We started with Shakespeare’s tragedies (Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet– you know, the classics) and break them down so they’re easy to understand, but still rich with meaning.

Here’s what you’ll find:

  • In-Depth Analyses: Themes, characters, and language explained without the jargon.
  • Educational Insights: Perfect for students, teachers, and anyone who loves to learn.
  • Engaging Content: Thought-provoking discussions that’ll make you fall in love with literature all over again.

And don’t worry. We’re not stopping at Shakespeare. We’ve got plans to journey through more genres, authors, and literary periods. Think of us as your one-stop shop for all things bookish.

Our Story

How LiteratureLens Came to Life

Literature Lens was born out of our shared passion for classic literature (and maybe a slight obsession with Shakespeare). As teachers, we noticed something: students often saw literature as intimidating or too “academic.” We wanted to change that. So, we built a space where readers- students, teachers, and everyday book lovers- could explore the brilliance of the Bard and beyond, without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

This platform is for anyone who’s ever wondered:
🔹Why does Hamlet take so long to make a decision?
🔹Is Macbeth just a power-hungry jerk, or is there more to him?
🔹How is Shakespeare still relevant 400 years later?
Spoiler: The answers are fascinating.

Who We Are

Abu Ishaque Mazumdar

“Stay in the world of literature to explore life.”

Author: Abu Ishaque Mazumdar, Assistant Professor in English Language & Literature. Pr. Abul Kalam Mazumdar Women’s College

I’m the kind of teacher who believes literature should be less about memorizing and more about thinking. My greatest joy is taking a difficult text—say, Iago’s slippery schemes in Othello—and turning it into something that sparks curiosity instead of confusion. Shakespeare is my playground, but I also love exploring how classic texts echo through modern life. Writing for Literature Lens lets me share the classroom energy with a much bigger family of readers.

Author: Kamrun Nahar
Assistant Professor in English Language & Literature

I’ve always believed that literature is more than an academic subject—it’s a conversation about life itself. In my teaching and writing, I focus on helping students see that books aren’t just dusty pages but living voices that still speak to us today. I’m especially drawn to characters who wrestle with identity, power, and resilience (Emilia from Othello is a personal favorite). At Literature Lens, I bring a balance of heart and insight, weaving together analysis and empathy so readers can truly feel the texts they study.

Together, we balance sharp analysis with a teacher’s care, making literature not just understandable—but alive.
